Joe Perry collapses on stage

Fears are growing for the Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry after he collapsed on stage in New York during a concert. The musician, who is 65, was on stage alongside Alice Cooper and Johnny Depp when he sat down in the middle of a song and was struggling to continue. Paramedics were then said to have rushed onto the stage to treat the musician who when then rushed to hospital in an ambulance.

According to the New York Times, the singer went into cardiac arrest while e was backstage at the concert and emergency CPR was administered on the scene. Though at first his condition was thought to be critical it is now believed that although the issue is still serious he has been stabilised in hospital in Manhattan.

Just hours before the performance Perry was sharing his excitement about the upcoming show on social media. The group who were performing are known as the Hollywood Vampires and consists of Joe Perry, Alice Cooper and Johnny Depp. The group honour the famous rockers of the 1970s who died before their time due to an excessive lifestyle. The group formed in 2015 and currently have several international performance dates lined up around the world.
