Pippa Middleton marries James Matthews in wedding of the year

Despite the pressure of being labelled the wedding of the year, the nuptials between Pippa Middleton and James Matthews went without a hitch. The 33-year-old sister of Kate Middleton looked stunning as she emerged from an open-top car wearing a dress by designer Giles Deacon. The bride looked stunning in a classic lace dress for her big day – six years after she was a bridesmaid at the wedding of her sister to Prince William.

Kate looked stunning in an Alexander McQueen dress which she paired with a set of earrings worth a whopping £7,500. The day might have been all about Pippa but Prince George and Princess Charlotte stole the limelight as they performed their duties as bridesmaid and page boy. There was tight security in the Berkshire village where the ceremony was held (just a few miles from the Middleton’s home) and locals in the village were asked to carry identification.

There was much speculation as to whether Megan Markel, Harry’s girlfriend, would attend the ceremony. While she wasn’t present at the church it is rumoured that she will attend the reception and party away from the glare of the media. The dress designer David Emanuelle, who created Princess Diana’s wedding outfit, called Pippa’s dress simple and pretty. ‘I predicted it would be soft and pretty and very English, which it is.’
