Cowell pledges to release charity single as Brooklyn Beckham visits site of horror fire

Simon Cowell has pledged to release a charity single in order to raise money for those who have been affected by the horrific fire at a block of flats in West London. The music mogul and TV star revealed that he hoped to have more details about the record tomorrow. ‘We hope to confirm a record tomorrow which will raise some money for the many people affected by this tragedy.’ Cowell lives close to the tower block which set fire in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

He called the tragedy ‘heartbreaking.’ It has not been confirmed who will be appearing on the record or what the song will be. He went on to say that to d nothing in such circumstances would be totally wrong. ‘Seeing the building it made a big impact. I think the thing that really hit home for me was when I was seeing that wall and I saw those messages and then when I saw how the residents immediately turned up with water and clothes and offers of shelter and everything else and that’s when I thought, I’m not just going to sit here and do nothing.’

Celebrities from across the globe have been sending their condolences to the people of Kensington. It has been confirmed that 17 people have died but that figure is expected to rise in the coming days. Brooklyn Beckham visited the site of the disaster this morning. He looked visibly shaken as he walked around meeting people and reading the messages of support that people have been writing on board around the flats.
