All the gossip from Glastonbury

Glastonbury 2017 is almost at an end. Since the world’s biggest music festival will be taking a break next year, we thought we would take a look at some of the highlights of from this weekend’s action. From Katy Perry taking to the crowds to a former Bee Gee going at it alone – it’s all been happening and it’s not even over yet! Ed Sheeran is set to headline and close the concert this evening but let’s take a look at what’s happened so far…

 

1. Katy Perry Crowdsurfs

She is known for causing a stir and Katy Perry certainly didn’t shy away at Glastonbury. The singer leapt into the crowd after finishing her poptastic set which included hits such as Firework and ET. Perry told the crowd ‘This makes me feel cool, I don’t really ever feel cool.’ She added ‘There’s so many people here, I didn’t know if you still liked me.’ The comment followed her poor album performance which only reached number 6 in the charts.

2. Bradley Cooper Delighted Fans with Surprise Visit

He is famed for his good looks and charming personality and despite not being remotely musical, festival goers were more than happy to see the Hangover actor at Glastonbury this weekend.The actor was there to shoot a scene for his upcoming film A Star is Born. He is set to star in the remake alongside Lady Gaga. The film, which originally starred Judy Garland, follows the rise to fame of an up and coming singer played by Gaga. Cooper followed his appearance by wishing concert goers a great weekend and introducing the next act. ‘You guys were awesome, that was great – it’s my sheer pleasure to introduce Kris Kristofferson.’

3. Barry Gibb Rocks Glastonbury

Sunday afternoon is known as legend’s afternoon and has seen the likes of Dolly Parton and Adele take to the stage. This year it was the turn of Barry Gibb. The former Bee Gee played his hit song Island in the Stream. also sung by Dolly back in 2014, Gibb actually wrote the number which was then popularised by the blonde bombshell. Speaking ahead of his performance, Gibb admitted that he still suffers from nerves and greatly misses his brothers when he is performing on stage. I don’t like being on stage on my own. I miss my brothers. ‘I get nerves being on stage on my own because it is so new to me.’ He added ‘We would all lean on each other. I’d lean on Maurice and Robin and they would lean on me and somehow we’d get through every show.’
