Singer Kelly Clarkson has opened up about her sexuality revealing that she was not attracted to men or women until she met her husband Brandon Blackstock. Clarkson made the shocking revelation when she was performing at the Highline Ballroom in New York City to promote her new album.
She said that she had no sexual inclination to anybody before meeting her future husband. ‘This isn’t a downer to anybody I dated before him, but I’m just going to be real: I never felt like, honesty, sexually attracted to anybody before him.’ She was quick to add that she wasn’t trying to criticise any of her ex-partners. ‘And I’m not downing my exes. You know, everybody’s different. But there was something about him.’
Clarkson was very candid in speaking about her past experiences saying that she had never understood the feeling of being really attracted to somebody before. ‘Oh that’s that feeling…OK! That’s what they were talking about in Waiting to Exhale. I just got it. I just didn’t have a clue.’ She also spoke in a previous interview about how her now-husband was the first person who she said I love you too and meant it.
Kelly met Blackstock, who is the son of her manager, in 2012. The couple married a year later and have to children together and Blackstock has two children from his previous marriage to which Clarkson is a step-mother.
