One of the former stars of the hit TV show Glee is to face up to 40 years in jail over child pornography offences. It is reported that Mark Salling is to face two charges after authorities discovered indecent photos of youngsters on his computer.
Reportedly both a still image and a video were involved in the crime. The 33-year-old singer and actor has two court indictments against him, the first is for receiving child pornography and the second is for being in possession of the material, with each charge potentially resulting in 20 years in prison.
A high profile US Attorney said that ‘Young victims are harmed every time an image is generated, every time it is distributed and every time it is viewed.’ This is not the first time that Salling, who played Noah Puck in the successful show about a high school performing arts group, has been in trouble with the law. In the past he was sued by his ex-girlfriend for assault. She said that the actor raped her before he was violent towards her. He settled the case for a staggering $2.7 million.
The actor and musician was born in Dallas before studying at Los Angeles Music Academy College of Music where he used to teach guitar for extra money. Salling is a prolific musician and has written and recorded many songs. He also starred in The Graveyard before finding world fame in the hit TV show Glee.
