Larger than life James Corden might not be the most conventional star of American television but this didn’t stop him stripping off for the latest edition of his carpool karaoke segment for his Late Late Show.
The British star took to the car with the Red Hot Chilli Peppers to sing a few of their hits when he quipped ”I almost didn’t recognise you when you came up because you had your clothes on. You are fans, as a band, of the old tops off.’ Anthony Kiedis responded by saying ‘it seems normal. It seems natural’ before he, Flea and host James removed their shirts for the rest of the journey! Not all the Chilli Peppers seemed as enthusiastic about getting naked with Chad Smith and Josh Klinghoffer deciding to remain fully clothed.
Corden’s career is going from strength to strength at the moment, on Sunday, he hosted the prestigious Tony Awards in New York City. The big winners of the night was the musical Hamilton. The hip-hop musicals tells the story of American Founding Father Alexander Hamilton and is currently the hottest ticket on Broadway. The show won 11 of the 16 awards it was nominated for. Many of the awards of the evening went to black actors and the Tony Awards were praised for eschewing all white candidates such as happened at this year’s Academy Awards.
