He is one of Hollywood’s most bankable stars and known to millions for his roles in films such as Pulp Fiction and Snakes on a Plane but it seems at points Samuel L Jackson’s life was like one of the movies he stars in.
He has spoken candidly at a recent awards ceremony about how his wife and daughter helped him through a difficult time with alcohol. Speaking as he collected his lifetime achievement award from the BET institution he said that his family found him unconscious after partying and sent the actor to rehab the next day. He went on to say ‘the two women that actually found me passed out on the floor after I left somebody’s bachelor party and put me in rehab the next day. And supported me and pushed me and give me a reason to get up and go and chase it day after day after day.’
The actor was also keen to thank many other people who have helped him along the way including his publicist, his lawyer and, of course, God! He also paid tribute to his millions of fans and ‘anybody who has ever bought a ticket’.
The 67-year-old actor is busier than ever. He consistently campaigns for male cancer awareness and is set to star in the new Tarzan movie which will be realised next month.
