Star Trek actors speak of Yelchin death

The world was in shock last month when Star Trek actor Anton Yelchin was tragically crushed to death by his own car at his home in California. And now several weeks after the passing of the actor Chris Pine and other members of the Star Trek family have spoken about the loss of their colleague and friend.
Pine admitted that ‘it’s been a very difficult few weeks’, before going on to say ‘we hung out at my house and it was just nice to have the family around to help deal with a loss like this and experience mourning at such an intense level.’

Pine was not the only one to pay tribute to the actor who was only 27. Karl Urban also spoke of his grief while promoting the new film in the franchise in Australia. He said ‘this feels like it should be a time for celebration not just of the film but of him, his extraordinary talent and the beautiful man he was.’
There are still open questions surrounding the death of Yelchin who was born in Russia before moving to the United States and becoming an actor. The car which killed him was subject to a voluntary recall by the manufacturer because of suspected issues.
