Damon earns $1 million a line!

He is well-known to the world as one of the most profitable stars in Hollywood but it seems that Matt Damon is doing less and less for his money these days. In the last of the Bourne Identity franchise, the star is said to have been paid a staggering $25 million despite the fact that in the final edit the actor has just 25 lines of dialogue.

The revelation was revealed in an interview with the Guardian when Damon spoke about when the director, Greengrass, called him to let him know about the lack of dialogue that would be appearing in the final edit. Matt admitted that he didn’t really have a problem with the lack if lines, despite the fact that they have reduced over the years because it was in keeping with his character. He spoke of how once his fighting partner and love interest died in the first film there was less need for him to speak. He said ‘once she dies in the first act of the second movie, it’s really a very lonely character.’

The movie, which is set to be released later this month, is the fourth instalment in the Bourne franchise. Both Damon and Greengrass said they would not make any more after the third, which at that point had earned the studio over $1 billion. However, nine years after the third film both said that they felt it was the right time to return to the characters.
