The British singer-songwriter, John Newman, has opened up about battles with his health. This comes after the twenty six-year-old artist has been diagnosed with a brain tumour for the second time.
In a heartbreaking but optimistic statement, the star said ‘I have been monitored constantly since the first time I had the tumour removed. There was always a chance that it could return and it is unfortunate but it is something I am prepared to get through when the time is right, some point next year.’
He went on to say that the prognosis for his particular condition was very positive and that he didn’t want people feeling sorry for him. He eas also defiant with regards to his first love of music. The singer said ‘nothing will ever stop me from doing the job I love so much, nothing will ever stop me from making music.’
Though the tumour that they have found is said to be benign, it is reported that there are some cancerous cells surrounding it. However, the tumour is not thought to be a current threat to his health and so the operation can wait until next year. A source close to the singer said that ‘the first time around John was petrified. But now he seems a lot calmer and I think the fact he’s been through this once before is reassuring.’
