Colton Haynes is known to the world as a successful actor in TV shows like Teen Wolf and Arrow but it seems that the star had a traumatic childhood. In an interview with Out Magazine, a gay publication, the actor admitted that his dad killed himself shortly after he came out as homosexual and attributes his sexuality to his dad’s death.
He said ‘I’m the last person in the world who would say, ”Oh, my dad—pity me”. But I was told that my dad killed himself because he found out I was gay.’ Haynes, who is now 28 years old was 14 when he came out to his friends and his family.
He also discussed how though it was difficult to deal with the news, it somehow seemed like his father really cared adding ‘but my brother and my mom went to pick up my dad’s stuff, and the only picture on his fridge was my eighth-grade graduation picture. So I was just like, F***.’
It seemed as though his father lived a very turbulent life after it was revealed that he was married a total of seven times before he killed himself, including once to Colton’s mother.
