Aretha Franklin set to retire

She is known as the queen of soul and one of the most well-respected artists in the world, but Aretha Franklin has decided it’s time to retire! She made the shock announcement of a local TV channel saying ‘I must tell you, I am retiring this year. I feel very, very enriched and satisfied with respect to where my career came from and where it is now.’ She also spoke of how she wishes to spend more time with her family in friends after she gives up work.

However, fans of Aretha need not worry just yet as the singer, who is 74 years of age, plans to release another album before her departure. The album will be a collaboration with singer Stevie Wonder and is set to be released later this year. The record is set to feature all new material. We won’t be saying a total final farewell to Aretha as she said she would be open to making short public appearances but she won’t be making any more music or going on tour again.
