Celebrities have paid tribute to the people of London after the city suffered a terrorist attack on Wednesday afternoon. Adele, who was performing on stage in New Zealand said that it felt very strange being so far away from home. She added ‘All I want to do today is just be at home and be with my friends and family.’
Speaking on the Late Late Show, James Corden expressed his shock at the events which unfolded on Westminster Bridge – paying tribute to his vibrant and diverse city. Former President Barack Obama was quick to respond saying ‘My heart goes out to the victims and their families in London. No act of terror can shake the strength and resilience of our British ally.’
Scarlett Moffatt of Gogglebox fame praised the reaction of the emergency services saying ‘Our police force, paramedics & emergency services are absolute heroes! Underpaid and over criticised, heroes! #staysafelondon.’ Footballer David Beckham also shared his thoughts on Twitter saying ‘My thoughts are with those who lost loved ones and were injured in London. Prouder than ever of our great city and the people that protect us.’
Other celebrities which tweeted about their sadness following the event included Lily Allen, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Katy Perry.
