Tennis star Serena Williams has announced to the world that she is 20 weeks pregnant. The sporting star, who is 35, announced the new via Snapchat. Williams is engaged to the founder of Reddit Alexis Ohanian – both of who are said to be thrilled at the news that they are expecting their first child.
Serena, who wore a yellow swimsuit in the picture she shared with the world, would have been 8 weeks pregnant when she won the Australian open back in January. The win catapulted Williams back to world number one and also landed her the title of the oldest woman to win a Grand Slam title.
The tennis player, who has also become a huge celebrity across the world, recently shared snaps of a romantic holiday on her Instagram. It is reported that Alexis proposed to Serena back in December but it is unknown if the couple knew they were expecting a baby at the time. Speaking about the engagement she said in late January ‘It feels good.’
The 22 time Grand Slam champion has dated a string of high-profile men in the past including Hosea Chanchez, Colin Farrell and even the rapper Drake. Williams certainly doesn’t need a man for financial support. It was recently reported by Forbes magazine that she is worth around $150m.
