Victoria Beckham has been awarded an OBE by Prince William at Buckingham Palace. She has been given the honour for her services to fashion and charity. The designer, who turned 43 on Monday, is getting her OBE 13 years after her husband, David Beckham, received the same honour for his services to football.
Victoria wore a long black dress teamed with some purple shoes for the special occasion. Speaking to the press after the event she said’It was an absolute pleasure to be at Buckingham Palace today. I’m proud to be British, honoured and humbled to receive my OBE from the Duke of Cambridge.’
The former Spice Girls also spoke passionately about how if you work hard you can make it to the top no matter where you are from.’If you dream big and work hard you can accomplish great things. I’m so happy to share this very special occasion with my parents and husband; without their love and support, none of this would be possible.’
After the event, Victoria was seen enjoying the party at the Palace with her footballer husband David. Her children did not join their parents but Romeo shared a touching message about his mother on social media just hours before. ‘Mum, I love u so much and hope you have the best day ever!! You are the most amazing mum and you are perfect In every way. I love how you make me laugh every day and whatever happens, you always seem to be happy. I love you to the moon and back xx have the best day ever.’
