Rylan Clark-Neal has spoken out in defence of his This Morning co-host Ferne McCann after her emotional appearance on the show. The TV presenter appeared alongside Phillip and Holly to discuss her pregnancy and split from her boyfriend who has been arrested following a horrific acid attack.
Speaking to the press at the LGBT awards in London last night Rylan said that despite her difficult situation she is ‘doing well’. He went on to say that he missed Ferne on Thursday but heard from his colleagues that she was staying positive. ‘I wasn’t in on Thursday, which was a shame because I didn’t get to see her, but from what all the guys at work were saying she’s doing well, and just looking forward to having the baby.’
Speaking on Thursday McCcann told her fellow presenters that ‘It had been such a stressful, surreal situation to be in but I’m actually feeling good, feeling positive because I’m pregnant.’ She added that she was overwhelmed by the support that she has received from the general public.
Rylan was at the awards with his husband Dan to collect awards for ‘media moment of the year.’ They picked up the gong for being the first gay couple to co-host a British television show. Other winners on the night included Tom Daley and Dustin Lance Black and TV presenter Clare Balding.
