Stephen Belafonte has claimed he is cash strapped and applied for spousal support from Mel B. However, the judge has delayed the hearing until the end of the month. It is reported that Belafonte, who has no formal income of his own, is said to be in $60,000 in debt, and in desperate need of help from the millionaire former Spice Girl. Belafonte is also reported to be homeless after he was killed out of the family home following Mel filing for divorce. He has also claimed that he has lost up to half a million dollars in work and that he has a right to maintain the life he is accustomed to. He said ‘We lived a very comfortable, upper-class lifestyle. Money was never an obstacle.’
According to TMZ Mel’s lawyer has suggested that she is not yet prepared to give him any money as she has already spent a large amount of cash taking out a restraining order against him. It was announced earlier this yeat that the couple are set to divorce after being married for 10 years. In May we also learned that Belafonte has been granted supervised access to the couple’s daughter. Upon filing for divorce, Mel requested a restraining order against her husband claiming that he was dangerous because of his criminal connections. Claims of threesomes were thrown around when the news of the divorced surfaced.
