Aaron Carter has spoken out for the first time since he was arrested for driving under the influence last week. The 29-year-old was arrested on Saturday after he was suspect of driving while under the influence of alcohol and as being in possession of weed. Carter’s girlfriend, Madison Parker, was travelling with him at the time and was also taken into custody for drug related offenses.
Shortly after the event, Aaron’s elder brother Nick took to social media to share his thoughts. ‘To my brother: I love u no matter what & if u feel the need to reach for help, I am here and willing to help you get better. Family isn’t always easy, be we’re all here for you.’
However, the tweet didn’t seem to go down well with Aaron who posted a response to his brother’s message after he was released on bail after stumping up over $4000. Aaron said ‘If my own blood truly cared about my well-being, why wouldn’t he call me directly and have a conversation instead of making this about him through a very public forum? That’s not cool at all to use me for his PR and kick me while I am down. I love my family despite it through thick and thin.’
Nick went to on to thank fans following their support following his brother’s arrest and stated that Aaron holds a certificate for medical marijuana. He also encourages fans to watch a video posted online that shows that Aaron was not in a moving vehicle when the arrest was made.
A statement was released apologizing for Aaron’s absence from two concerts that he was scheduled to perform at last weekend. The statement continued ‘Lost dates will be made up. His next stop will be in Alabama as scheduled Tuesday, July 18, 2017.’
