Marilyn Manson has been hospitalised following dramatic injury while performing in New York

Marilyn Manson has been admitted to hospital after suffering an injury while performing on stage at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York. The singer, who is 58-years-old, was singing a cover of the Eurythmics ‘Sweet Dreams’ when a stage prop consisting of two giant guns fell on top of him.

According to eyewitness reports, paramedics quickly rushed onto the stage before the rocker was taken to hospital in an ambulance. One fan who was attending the concert posted online ‘Crew rushed stage to lift it off him during #sweetdreams, he’s unresponsive and they pull a sheet to cover stage and carry him off. Show cancelled.’ He added ‘Craziest and saddest concert I’ve ever seen. #getwellsoon Manson, we love you.’

Manson’s people posted a short statement but they didn’t make any comments on his current condition. ‘On Saturday night, the legendary performer suffered an injury on stage towards the end of his set at NYC’s Hammerstein Ballroom causing him to cut the show short. He was treated for the injury at a local hospital and will be recuperating at home in Los Angeles.’

Manson was set to continue touring the United States and Europe but these upcoming dates have been cancelled. His rep said ‘Manson hopes to return to the stage soon, more details on upcoming shows to follow.’
