Last night saw Rita Ora take to the stage to host the MTV European Music Awards which were held in London. Taylor Swift dominated the nominations followed closely by Shawn Mendes. However, Mendes pipped Swift to the top spot taking home the award for best artist. The Canadian also took home the prize for best song and also the esteemed fans award.
The ceremony was held in London for the first time in 21 years and flying the flag for the home talent was Ed Sheeran and Stormzy. Sheeran was the recipient of the best live act prize with Stormzy picking up the award for the best UK & Ireland act. Despite being nominated for six awards, Taylor Swift left empty-handed – an unusual experience for the pop star.
