Alfonso Ribeiro has sent the world of social media into meltdown when he posted a picture of himself with the cast of the Fresh Prince of Bel Air. The pictures have sparked gossip that the cast is set to reunite with Will Smith now playing the uncle in the show.
Ribeiro, who played Alfonso captioned the picture saying that he wished James Avery was still with them. ‘Always amazing to spend an afternoon with my Fresh Prince family. Wishing that James Avery was still with us to make this complete.’ Avery passed away back in 2013 after complications following heart surgery.
Despite the show ending more than 20 years ago, it seems like there is a huge appetite for the show returning to the screen. Fans were quick to express their love for the show and their hope that it will make a come back to television. One said ‘I’m crying’, one wrote, ‘This makes me so happy.’ While another added ‘Funny I still watch this show all the time, I love it’
The show’s star Will Smith, who played a fictionalised version of himself in the hit series, has gone on to become of Hollywood’s biggest film stars. While ostensibly a comedy, the show dealt with a range of issues ranging from troubles teenagers to race relations.
