It seems like NBC are confident that the return of Will and Grace will be such a hit with the viewers that they have added an extra two episodes to the new series. The network revealed back in January that they were recommissioning the hit series after a one off sepcial about the American election proved a hit with fans on YouTube.
However, according to Debra Messing, who played Grace Adler in the hit-comedy, the Network had no idea that the fabulius foursome were getting back together for the election special. She added ‘We thought, you know what, we have so much to say in the only way we can say it, which is always putting the funny first but also always commenting on what is happening in politics and pop culture and social norms.’
The origional series aired between 1998 and 2006 and followed gay character Will and Jack and their best friends Grace and Karen. The stars of the show admitted that they didn’t expect the show to be a hit because of its lead gay characters. Messing said ‘When we filmed the pilot we knew that it was risky and we felt very deeply that it was an extraordinary pilot and the writing was beyond hilarious.’
