Happy Days actress Erin Moran has died at the age of just 56. She is best known for playing the part of Joanie in the 1970s sitcom that took the world by storm. According to reports, police were called to an incident at her house on Saturday afternoon where Moran was found dead at the scene. The cause of death is not yet known.
Celebrities from the world of showbiz took to Twitter to share their shock at her passing. Ron Howard wrote ‘Such sad news. RIP Erin. I’ll always choose to remember you on our show making scenes better and lighting up TV screens. Henry Winkler, who starred in the show as The Fonz also spoke of his shock and sadness. ‘Oh, Erin…now you will finally have the peace you so badly wanted here on earth. Rest in it serenely now. Too soon.’
Moran joined the cast of Happy Days back in 1974 when she was just 13 years old. It recent years the actress was reported to be in financial difficulty and living in a trailer park in Indiana. Back in 2010, she was one of many Happy Days cast member who filed a lawsuit against CBS – stating that they were owed money from merchandise money from the production company.
