Actor Ryan Reynolds has posted a heartfelt tribute on social media after a woman died on the set of his new film Deadpool 2. He said he was ‘heartbroken, shocked and devastated’ at the news.
His statement read ‘Today, we tragically lost a member of our crew while filming Deadpool.’ Adding “We’re heartbroken, shocked and devastated… but recognise nothing can come close to the grief and inexplicable pain her family and loved ones must feel in this moment. My heart pours out to them – along with each and every person she touched in this world.’
According to a source, the stuntwoman was driving a motorbike when she appeared to lose control of the vehicle and ploughed straight into a building. A spokesperson for the film said that the team were deeply saddened and their thoughts were with the family at this difficult time.
A witness told Global News ‘People were running on the sidewalk, the motorcycle comes flying across the street, looks like from a ramp because it was in the air.’ Local police confirmed the death and an investigation is said to be underway.
