Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has been hospitalized after undergoing emergency surgery on his achilles. The British-born star, who has since found fame in the United States with his TV show Hell’s Kitchen, was set to take part in a charity football match this weekend. It is understood he will not be recovered in time for the event. Other names from the world of sport and entertainment who are taking part in Soccer Aid include the likes of Michael Sheen, Robbie Williams, Ronaldhino and David Seaman.
The notoriously mouthy chef also posted a picture on his social media looking a little vulnerable while strapped up in a hospital bed. Gordon appeared to be genuinely disappointed about his absence from the game with an official statement reading ‘Sadly, following the devastating news that I have ruptured my Achilles, today, on the advice of my doctors I have undergone emergency surgery to fix the tear and can no longer participate in the forthcoming events. Good luck to those participating in this weekend’s game.’
Only weeks earlier Gordon announced on the Late Late Show, which is hosted by fellow Brit James Corden, that he was expecting his fifth child with his wife Tana. The couple already have three girls and a boy.
