Star of The Voice Mexico shot dead in Chicago

It’s been a dark week for shootings and also for the hit TV show The Voice after it emerged that a second of its former contestants was shot dead in Chicago on Thursday. News about the shooting did not appear until yesterday. It has also emerged that it was the singer’s birthday when he was shot on Thursday and died two days later at a hospital in the city.

Alejandro Fuentes, who was only 45 years old, died after an ambush on his car on Thursday in the city of Chicago. In 2011 the singer was a contestant on the Mexican version of The Voice. Only six days before a former performer on the Ameican version of The Voice was shot in Orlando aftemeetingtg with fans after her concert in the city. An official statement read ‘the Latino community in Illinois today lost a great artist, teacher, friend and above all a great human being.’
