The Blue Jasmine star said it was none other than Dame Judi Dench who taught her the trick. She said ‘Dame Judi Dench taught me a trick she uses before a photo shoot which is to put your arms up in the air so the blood drains down and makes your hands look less veiny.’
Cate added ‘she says it’s your hands that give away your age.’ There are of course many other ways to prevent your hands from aging including wearing gloves when cleaning to keep away any abrasive substances and moisturizing daily.
It seems that Blanchett is not the only star who has a thing about her hands, Julianne Moore has also spoken out about the humiliating mani-cams which are now present at many red carpets. The camera aims to get a closer look at a star’s manicure but it can often also reveal aging hands to the world.
