New Homeland plot revealed

It is known for being one of the most topical TV shows on the box but it seems like the new season of Homeland will be more relevant than ever when the series returns early next year.

The news comes as the show’s executive producer Alex Gansa was giving a speech at the Television Critics Association in Los Angeles. The new series will feature a newly elected woman President who will be a cross between several high-profile candidates from the current election race. Gansa said ‘she’s a little bit Hillary, a little bit Donald Trump, a little bit Bernie Sanders.’

The show will also heavily feature a story closely relating to the historic nuclear deal which was struck with Iran last year. Gansa said ‘we talked about the Iran nuclear deal, so that’s a fairly big part of the show, and also about how law enforcement in this country is treating the Muslim community right now.’

Claire Danes is set to return as Carrie with Rupert Friend also making a comeback. Viewers were left gripped at the end of the last series, with Rupert’s character Quinn fighting for his life after being used as guinea pig in the testing of nuclear weapons.
