When most people lose a parent they want to have a say in what happens to their ashes once they have passed but it seems that Jennifer Aniston is not most people. The Friends actress who is said to have had a frosty relationship with her mother for many years and has reportedly refused to take her mother’s ashes for scattering.
A source close to the actress has said ‘everyone knows that she and Nancy had a horrible relationship.’ Adding ‘she was an absentee daughter and now, even with Nancy gone, it seems that she still doesn’t want her mom around.’ According to reports Jennifer had not seen her mother in many years, however, she did fly to Los Angeles to visit her briefly after she suffered a stroke back in 2011.
Though the pair never had a particularly close relationship, it is said that the final straw for Jennifer was when her late mother published a book titled ‘From Mother and Daughter to Friends: A Memoir’. Jen is notoriously a very private person, despite her widespread fame, and she felt that the book was a grave breach of trust by her mum.
In an interview last year Jen spoke of how critical her mother was of her growing up. She said ‘she was critical. She was very critical of me.’
