Former English footballer Dwight Yorke has claimed that he was refused entry to the US because he had an Iranian stamp in his passport. The football ace, who is best known for playing for Manchester United, said that he was ‘made to feel like a criminal’ when he tried to enter America on Friday. Yorke was said to be travelling from Qatar to one of his many homes in Trinidad and Tabago, via Miami, when President Trump’s plans put an abrupt stop to his trip.
He went on to describe the shock and humiliation he experienced when officials stopped him from boarding the place. ‘I couldn’t quite believe what was happening. I had bought my ticket and checked in and was about to get on the flight when I was stopped by two officials. I thought what is happening here? The two officials told me if I got on the flight I would simply be deported back to Qatar once I arrived in the States. I tried to explain I didn’t even live in Qatar and was just trying to get to my home in the Caribbean.’
