TV and radio presenter Zoe Ball has paid tribute to her boyfriend who has been found dead at his London home aged just 40 years old. The star is said to be ‘overcome with grief’ after his body was discovered at his flat in Putney yesterday evening. Ball began dating the cameraman after she split from rapper Fatboy Slim.
A source said that his death came totally ‘out of the blue’. Just hours before discovering her boyfriend had died Zoe posted a picture of a flower on social media with the caption ‘my sweet love’. She also posted a message encouraging those who may be struggling with their mental health to speak to the Samaritans. This has led some to speculate that he was struggling with his mental health – though this remains unconfirmed.
Zoe is said to have met the cameraman, who worked on the Antiques Roadshow, through mutual friends that worked at the BBC. The new couple had been spotted out and about together in London on numerous occasions with friends saying that he had brought her a new lease of life. Mr Yate’s ex-girlfriend said of Zoe’s new relationship with her former partner ‘It’s all lovely and fabulous. I hope they’re very happy. He is a dear, dear friend, my whole family just adore him.’
