Aaron Carter opens up about his sexuality in cryptic online tweet

Aaron Carter has opened up about his sexuality in a touching letter to his fans. In the lengthy note, which the former Backstreet Boy posted on Twitter, he said that he just wants to be honest and tell the truth about who he really is.

The singer said that while his sexuality doesn’t bring him shame, it is a burden that he feels the need to get off his chest. He said ‘To start off, I would like to say that I love each and EVERY ONE of my fans. There’s something I’d like to say that I feel is important for myself and my identity that has been weighing on my chest for nearly half of my life. This doesn’t bring me shame, just a weight, and burden I have held onto for a long time that I would like lifted off me.’

Aaron said that while growing up in the entertainment industry, at the age of 13 he started to find both boys and girls attractive. He claimed that after dating several girls he had an experience at 17 with a male that he was attracted to. He didn’t use the word gay or bisexual in the message and many have been left speculating as to what Aaron actually meant by his tweet.

He finished the message by posting a quote from Boy George reading ‘I’ve never felt as though I didn’t belong, I just acted as though I did.’
