The Video Music Awards were held in California last night and they were plenty of shocks, surprises and touching moments throughout the ceremony which was hosted by Katy Perry. From a no-show by Taylor Swift to a heartbreaking tribute by the mother of Heather Heyer – late night felt more emotional than ever before.
