Lady Gaga cancels world tour because of ‘severe pain’

Lady Gaga has cancelled her European tour following the revelation that she is suffering from chronic pain. The pop star first cancelled a gig in Rio last week but was expected to return to the stage in time for the European leg of her tour. A statement from the tour promoters, Live Nation, said that she was devastated.

The statement read ‘Lady Gaga is suffering from severe physical pain that has impacted her ability to perform.’ It continued ‘She remains under the care of expert medical professionals who recommended the postponement earlier today.’

It is known that Lady Gaga suffers from the disease fibromyalgia – a chronic condition that causes unexplained pain across the body. It was reported that she is going to spend the time resting and getting fit for her return to the stage. She posted on social media last week that her condition is ‘not simply hip pain or wear and tear from the road.’

The statement said that the dates would be rescheduled for early next year. Her battle with the condition is set to be the subject of a documentary called Gaga: Five Foot Two. It will be released on Netflix on 22nd September.
