Annabella Sciorra latest star to accuse Harvey Weinstein of rape

The actress Annabella Sciorra has accused Hollywood film producer of raping her. Sciorra is best known for her role in The Sopranos told The New Yorker that the disgraced producer forced his way into her apartment and raped her back in 1992. She went on to add that he subsequently assaulted her many times over the years. Once again, a spokesperson for Weinstein has said that he denies all the claims.

Speaking to a journalist from the magazine she said that the rape occurred after she had finished filming The Night We Never Met which Weinstein produced. She said that he ‘pushed the door open’ before refusing to leave and then raping her. ‘I struggled, but I had very little strength left in me.’ ‘Like most of these women, I was so ashamed of what happened. And I fought. I fought. But still I was like, Why did I open that door?… I felt disgusting.’

She went on to say that she didn’t work for a very long time after that and she suspected that Harvey Weinstein had been bad mouthing her to other people in the industry, claiming that she was difficult to work with. People later told her ‘We heard you were difficult; we heard this or that.’

Natassia Malthe, also came forward this week to claim that Weinstein raped he in a Lonon hotel room in 2008 without a condom. In total, more than 50 women have now come forward to accuse Weinstein of a range of offences from sexual assault to rape.
