Adele pledges to help Grenfell Tower victims and hints she might retire from touring

Adele has paid tribute to the victims of the Grenfell Tower disaster at her first gig at Wembley Stadium. Not only did she visit the site of the tragedy but she also urged fans to donate to the fund which is helping the survivors and families of the victims.

She said ‘Usually I ask everyone to get their phone out and put their lights on. But before I do that I want you to donate.’ She added ‘Today is two weeks since it happened and they are being neglected now. I promise any money that we raise will get to them. I am not leaving them.

The singer also hinted that she may never go on tour again. She told fans ‘I might never see you again at a live show.’ She also included a handwritten note in each of the programs which read ‘I want my last time to be at home in London. The note continued ‘Touring is a peculiar thing, it doesn’t suit me particularly well. I’m a real homebody and I get so much joy in the small things. Plus, I’m dramatic and have a terrible history of touring. Until now that is!’

Her shows in London are the final stop on her world tour which has seen her play to over 2 million people across Europe, the Americas, Asia and Australia.
