Chester Bennington’s friends and family gathered at South Coast Botanic Garden in Rancho Palos Verdes for a private funeral to celebrate the singer’s life. Bennington killed himself on July 20th after struggling with mental health issues for many years.
Justin Carlile, frontman of the band Of Mice and Men, posted a picture of the funeral cortege on Instagram along with a photo of the late star and the caption ‘GOD’S GOT THIS.’ He added ‘The service today was beautiful, thank you Linkin Park, thank you Chester. For everything.’
According to reports, the service was attended by hundreds of people and included several tributes including many musical additions from many of Bennington’s industry friends. Hip-hop artist, Blackbear tweeted ‘Beautiful ceremony.. a lil piece of u has & will be in every song i sing on stage forever. @chesterbe @linkinpark #chesterbennington.’
Last week, Bennington’s wife posted a tribute to her late husband. She said that as yet, she was unsure about how she was going to move on. ‘One week ago, I lost my soul mate and my children lost their hero—their Daddy. We had a fairytale life and now it has turned into some sick Shakespearean tragedy. How do I move on? How do I pick up my shattered soul? The only answer I know is to raise our babies with every ounce of love I have left.’
