Game of Thrones star’s pay is revealed

As the dynasties of Game of Thrones continue to battle it out, it seems that the actors who star in the show are living a very royal life themselves after details of their salary were leaked to the public. The Hollywood Trade magazine revealed that the three lead actors, Kit Harrington, Lena Headey and Emilia Clark each earn a staggering $500,000 an episode to appear in the hit HBO series.

Co-stars Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Peter Dinklage are also pocketing the same amount and there is no gender pay gap between what the men earn and what the women earn. The top five earners are those who have been there since the show’s inception, with the series set to air the season seven finale this week.

The publication also revealed the earnings of several other high-profile actors in hit TV shows. It claimed that Claire Danes is earning $450,000 per episode for Homeland and that Kevin Spacey is in receipt of $500,000 per episode for starring in the political drama House of Cards. However, the biggest earner in the world of television is Robert De Niro who is taking home a cool $775,000 per episode for his part in an, as yet untitled, show set to air on Amazon.
